
Tibet Overland Tour
This is one of our most popular overland tours, taking you from Nepal to Lhasa for a remarkable 11-day journey that showcases the rich culture and history of Tibet. The tour offers a perfect blend of spiritual experiences, from the ancient monasteries and monks’ chants to the serene beauty of the turquoise Yamdrok Lake. Ending with a scenic flight over the Himalayas, this trip begins with a flight to Lhasa, followed by a warm welcome from your guide and a transfer to your hotel. You’ll then explore Lhasa’s historic sites and venture through the countryside to visit the monasteries in Gyantse, Shigatse, and the awe-inspiring Everest Base Camp, all accompanied by a Tibetan guide in a modern jeep. The journey ends with crossing the Tibet-Nepal border via the Friendship Bridge, where you’ll complete the necessary immigration formalities.

Itinerary
Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa, where you’ll be greeted by your guide and driver. After a scenic one-hour drive, you’ll arrive in Tsedang for the day, allowing time for acclimatization. Stay overnight at a local hotel.
Enjoy a one-hour drive along the Yarlung Tsangpo River to visit the historic Samye Monastery. In the afternoon, explore Yumbulakhang Palace (the oldest Buddhist temple in Tibet) and Tradruk Temple, located 15 km from Tsedang. Overnight in Tsedang.
Drive along the Yarlong Tsangpo River, arriving in Lhasa. Overnight at a hotel.
Spend two days visiting Lhasa’s highlights, including the Potala Palace, Norbulinka, and the Jokhang Temple. You’ll also explore the Sera and Drepung Monasteries, as well as the vibrant Barkhor Bazaar. Overnight in Lhasa.
Depart from Lhasa and journey towards Gyantse, a town renowned for its historical significance. On the way, pass by the stunning Yamdrok Tsho Lake, with its vivid turquoise waters, and cross two major passes: Kamba La (4794m) and Karo La (5010m). Upon arrival, take in the view of the town's unique Tibetan architecture and enjoy the night at a local hotel.

Leave Gyantse and head towards Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city. Visit the impressive Khumbhum Stupa and Phalkor Monastery in Gyantse before traveling through vast farmlands to Shigatse. In the afternoon, explore the Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of Tibet's most important religious sites, and wander through the bustling Tibetan market. Overnight in Shigatse.
Leave Shigatse for Shegar, taking in the scenic landscapes and passing through the rugged Tibetan plateau. Visit the Sakya Monastery, a significant Tibetan Buddhist site. The journey continues as you drive over the Gyatsola Pass (5220m), providing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Overnight at a guesthouse in Shegar.
Descend towards Nyalam, driving through the spectacular passes of Lalung La (5082m) and Nyalamu (3800m). The route offers some of the most awe-inspiring views of the mountains and valleys. After crossing these high-altitude passes, relax and overnight at a guesthouse in Nyalam.
On the final day of your journey, drive from Nyalam to the Friendship Bridge, where you will cross into Nepal. Complete immigration formalities before heading back to Kathmandu, marking the end of your unforgettable Tibet overland journey.
